Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, spoke to the media for the second time on Wednesday. She mentioned that the Chief Minister has diabetes and his blood sugar levels are not under control. However, despite his health challenges, he remains determined to serve the people of the national capital.
Sunita conveyed Kejriwal’s message to the citizens of Delhi in Hindi, saying, “Unhone ne kaha hai mera shareer jail mein hai, lekin aatma aap sabke beech. Aankhein band karo aur mujhe apne aas paas mehsoos karo.”
Kejriwal’s petition will be heard by Delhi High Court
Currently, Kejriwal’s petition for immediate release due to what he claims is an “illegal” arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is being heard by Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma of the Delhi High Court.
Just two days after issuing his first order, Chief Minister Kejriwal, even while in custody, issued a new directive to Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj. The order was to address the shortage of medicines and diagnostic tests at local clinics and hospitals in the city.
Bharadwaj, who oversees the health portfolio, emphasised the importance of ensuring that all individuals, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, have access to necessary medications. He stressed that while those from middle-class families can afford to purchase medicines, many underprivileged families rely solely on government hospitals and local clinics for their healthcare needs. Some of these medications are vital and need to be taken for a lifetime.
So, despite the challenges faced by Chief Minister Kejriwal, his commitment to serving the people of Delhi remains unwavering. His wife, Sunita, has conveyed his message of resilience and dedication, urging the people to feel his presence among them, even as he faces legal proceedings. Additionally, efforts are underway to ensure that essential healthcare services, including medications, are readily available to all, especially those who are most vulnerable in society.
